Charlotte Kammerer - Entrepreneurship and Management in the Creative Industries
'While studying a Bachelor’s in my hometown Berlin, I was closely engaged with the music industry there. I knew I wanted to focus on the creative industries in my Master's. The EMCI track at the UvA suited my criteria: a strong academic base enriched with real-life business cases. Add to this the ability to study in a city with a rich cultural landscape, and I was convinced to enrol.'
'What I enjoy most about this programme is the freedom of choosing courses as well as the quality of the options. They are all great. Studying here does require you to plan efficiently, since the academic year is split into 6 periods which all have their own deadlines and exam dates.'
'Living in Amsterdam is easy though. Since you bike most of the time, your spending on public transport is low while simultaneously exercising on a daily basis. Disadvantage: rain. So treat yourself to proper rain gear! Yet the Dutch have found keen solutions. Like the two-story indoor bike parking at the university, which keeps your bike dry, saves space and looks cool.'
'Besides studying, I am following an electronic music production course at CREA, the cultural student center of the UvA. After graduation, my goal is to gain more work-related self-confidence to, in time, realise my own ideas.'
