The Amsterdam People Analytics Centre (APAC) is an initiative of the Amsterdam Business School at the University of Amsterdam. It is the aim of the centre to promote high-quality applied scientific research in the field of people analytics. Through this work, we help organisations leverage scientific insights and data to strengthen their HR practices and improve business outcomes.

Our experts

At the Amsterdam People Analytics Centre (APAC) we have experts in the fields of (Human Resource) Management and Organisational Behaviour, together with expertise in diverse research methods.

Our expertise

People analytics is about analysing data about people to solve business problems, combining insights from Human Resource Management (HRM), organisational behaviour, and data science. At APAC, our research is grounded in both fundamental HR questions and state-of-the-art methodological approaches. Our work spans key domains such as strategic HRM, talent management, algorithmic management, and the implications of artificial intelligence for HR. We also work with a wide range of people analytics methods, including collecting diverse forms of data and applying advanced analytic techniques such as longitudinal modelling, clustering, and natural language processing.

Our events

APAC Industry Network Meetings

To facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and practitioner-academic collaborations, we host an industry network event twice a year. The Industry network is an in-person event at the Amsterdam Business School for practitioners working in people analytics. For this event, we invite speakers from the industry to share their People Analytics journey. The industry network event is designed as an interactive event that allows all participants to be inspired and engage not only with the topics but also with each other.

APAC Academy

We organise three to four online sessions each year to discuss the latest research insights in people analytics and their implications. Each session features a speaker who presents recent work on a different research topic. Participants are encouraged to engage with the topic, the speaker, and one another, creating an environment that supports idea generation and collaboration among researchers.
